FAQ
RecordMyRide generates a logbook laid out to match what Section 8(1)(b) of the Income Tax Act asks for: date, opening and closing odometer readings, distance travelled, route, and business purpose for every trip. You remain responsible for confirming it’s accurate before you submit it — we build the record, you sign off on it, same as any logbook.
It stays pending until you do. Nothing gets silently marked business or private on your behalf — you always confirm.
RecordMyRide uses the same battery-efficient motion-detection approach fitness and navigation apps use — it samples GPS more precisely while you’re actually moving and backs off almost entirely while you’re still.
RecordMyRide can still calculate distances from GPS. But real odometer readings, entered every so often, are what let us give you accurate opening and closing figures per trip rather than just totals — worth the ten seconds once a month.
